Inglewood/Compton Flavor: The Story Behind the Opening Track of California in Ink

People ask me where California in Ink begins. It begins with “Inglewood/Compton Flavor,” the opening track of the album, released September 25, 2026. I hear it as a front door into the record’s California snapshots: familiar places, everyday feeling, and a little groove to carry you along. The recurring “Same sky, different day” line feels like a thread through it all.
